Question about a Survey
A property I am renting needs to have a survey done. What is entailed in a property survey? Do they just measure the lot and the building or do they take intensive measurements inside the property as well.
I'm wondering how long the process takes.

retail zoning question
Can a space that's designated as a:
Miscellaneous warehouse (E9)
be used for a retail business?

i had great fears about the traffic and the issues of cars vs. buses since that's the primary trans. mode. and they are unfounded.
so yay Ikea.
i am happy to admit I'm wrong.
I don't love Ikea like I'd want to marry it, but it's not the devil either. I think it's been a net plus for the neighborhood and putting up with a little extra traffic has been ok.
now let's all get afraid about what stupid big box someone's going to build next door, ok?

Brownstoner you rock! I'm so excited about the flea market. Not just cause i'm a vendor but because i'm old enough to remember how awesome the Chelsea Flea Market used to be. Everyone I talk to is beyond excited about it. Thanks for not only having the idea but the chutzpah and follow through to make it happen. Viva la Brooklyn!

You should have the food vendors that are getting kicked out of the Red Hook Ballfields sell at the Brooklyn Flea! Hmmmmmmmm hurraches + grilled corn!

do you think that if i was going to file for a change of use for a commercial property (to change from a garage to a retail store) would be best if i did it before or after the code change?

Amy Ruth's sounds like the perfect pairing and now I'm so happy I don't have to go to Harlem for Chicken + Waffles! Yum.

It's in an R6 zone.
It's a warehouse building.
But there are other businesses in this zoned area across the street and around the corner. It's not a residential building.

it was a short but sweet time we had together Re/Dress NYC and the Brooklyn Flea. i have some amazing memories and see folks i met at the flea market in the store. it was fun to shop and send my out of town friends there for a surefire awesome brooklyn experience.
i look foward to your next year's offerings as a shopper, can't say i'm unhappy about not having to set up and break down in a day. cheers, deb re/dress
