Whether you're avoiding Super Bowl Saturation via beer and snacks, or just want to grab a few brews and non-wing snacks, SmorgasBrewery has you covered. This week you can pair your Brooklyn Beer with:
Commerce Bakery: These exceptional breads and pasteries will add the necessary sweetness factor to any Super Bowl experience. Their pretzels are renowned around town.
Danny Macaroons: Dan the Man's coconut cookies are sublime, dipped in salted caramel or chocolate or roasted almonds and baked to chewy yumness. Bring some to your Super Bowl party and give people something to talk about besides Madonna.
Noshi: The Danish/Japanese fusion of smørrebrød (open sandwhiches) and cured sushi makes for the most refined and delicious Super Bowl snack you could hope for.
Solber Pupusas: Why have a jalapeno popper when you can have a traditional El Salvadoran pupusa stuffed to the brim with cheese and jalapenos. The perfect beer food.
Admission is free, but food and beer are not. Brooklyn Brewery is at 79 N. 11th St. between Wythe and Berry. See you Sunday and go Giants! (Ed.: Go Pats!)

Now that we're fully in the new year, let's take a moment to reflect on all of the nice things people said about the Brooklyn Flea and Smorgasburg in late 2011. Here's a selection of our recent press attention.
The New York Times took the real-estate angle with an article on creative uses of vacant, undeveloped lots; the Flea and Smorgasburg's Williamsburg location is a prime example of the trend.
Did you know that the Flea is now on the Huffington Post? We'll be blogging there every once in a while, and our first article was the Featured Vendor profile of vintage seller Jarontiques.
Typewriters are back, it's true! Brady & Kowalski get another profile, this time in the Daily News.
Travis Sylvester, quite possibly the most stylish man at the Flea, was featured in BlackBook mag, giving holiday-party dress-up tips for men.
The blog for radio station WNYC checked out our friends Twig Terrariums.
A new blog, Good House Guest, also profiled the Twig ladies. Terrariums make great gifts!
The good people of Daily Candy wrote about Australian Scent—AS's clay de Magdelene was Suchin Pak's pick of the week!
The NY Post reports on SmorgasBrewery.
The Brooklyn Paper also checks out SmorgasBrewery, this time in comic form!
This blog ranked its best bites of 2011, and Landhaus's maple-bacon stick is in the number one slot.
Melanie Dunea, a writer and photographer, came to one of the last Smorgasburgs and interviewed people on what they would want for their last meals. Her super charming Last Supper video showcases a handful of Smorg regulars, staffers and vendors.

Last week's SmorgasBrewery debut at the Brooklyn Brewery was so successful that we're back for another round! We'll be setting up every Sunday (except Christmas Day and New Year's Day) until we get released back outside come spring.
Stop by on Sunday, anytime from noon till 5pm, and drink and snack to your heart's content. Might as well get ready for all that holiday eating, right? Remember that admission to the Brooklyn Brewery is free; the food and beer are not. Brooklyn Brewery is located at 79 N. 11th St. between Wythe and Berry.
This week's vendors are:
Sea Bean Goods - Refined yet earthy soups (like the celery-root soup pictured above) and delightful savory sables.
Skytown - Killer kale salads, warming soups and more vegetarian goodness.
Brooklyn Bangers - Housemade sausage sandwiches and other meaty treats from the owners of Saul/The Vanderbilt.
Mighty Quinn's - The best darn BBQ around, nuff said.
Brooklyn Oyster Party - Brooklyn's own bivalve king.

It's only been two weeks, and we miss you too! We're happy to announce that starting this Sunday, SmorgasBrewery will feature a rotating lineup of five Flea/Smorg food vendors every week at the Brooklyn Brewery's tasting room in Williamsburg. The inaugural SmorgasBrewery takes place Sunday, December 4, from noon till 5pm. Admission is free, but food and beer are not. Brooklyn Brewery is at 79 N. 11th St. between Wythe and Berry.
Along with Brooklyn Brewery's rad selection of local craft beers, this week you'll find the following vendors:

Kumquat Cupcakery - Keavy bakes the cutest, most creative cupcakes—they've been a highly coveted hit at the market since the early days.
Landhaus - Landhaus cooks up thick, sweet slices of pork belly to make pretty much the best BLT in town. Lamb burgers too.
Mile End - Mile End elevates brisket to heretofore unknown levels of smoked-meat amazingness, redefining the Jewish deli for our time.
Shorty Tang & Sons - Shorty Tang's legendary sesame noodles have been revived by his grandsons to universal acclaim.
What's New?

It feels good to be back at One Hanson, and thanks for coming out last weekend to celebrate our bank-building homecoming.
The market is always filled with all of your favorite Flea vendors—from vintage fashion and furniture to handcrafted jewelry and fine artpieces, we're excited to have you shop with us this holiday season. Check this link on Fridays for the layout and complete list of vendors.
New to the market this week is Clover New York, a children's clothing company that takes its inspiration from Indian colors, patterns and fabrics. One of their darling dresses is shown above.
Downstairs in the vault, there are some new edible additions to the proceedings:
We warmly, fishily welcome Bon Chovie to One Hanson for the first time, the Smorgasburg superstars who make magic happen between an anchovy and a deep fryer.
Tin Mustard, another Smorg regular, whips up the best mustard on the planet. Makes for a spicy stocking stuffer, for sure.
La Esquina (yes, the SoHo/Williamsburg Mexican spot), will make its Flea debut with its own line of salsas, and promises some eat-right-there dishes too.
Gift Guide Galore

With the holiday season gearing up, from now till the 25th we'll be passing along our best Flea finds, presents that we're excited to give and receive. But first, here are some gift-giving guides from various publications online and otherwise:
Turns out that Tyra Banks loves vintage shopping, and she gives a great shoutout to jewelry-dealers Estate Jewels by George & Raf in an article on her website, TypeF. They're named as "her personal favorite"! George and Raf were also deemed one of NYC's coolest secret shops by Time Out New York.
In case you missed it, TONY's 2011 Food & Drink Gift Guide includes numerous past and present Flea & Smorgasburg vendors, including newcomer Leckerlee's Lebkuchen holiday treats, Butter & Love's jam-sandwich cookies, Brooklyn Cured's rilletes and pate, Madecasse chocolate bars, Salty Road taffy, Sweet Loren's ready-to-bake cookie dough, Salud's Mexican hot chocolate mix and Tin Mustard's caviar of condiments.
New York Magazine's EPIC gift guide includes some Flea vendors among the big-box heavy hitters—among others, they recommend Brooklyn Junior's cute kid tees, Maptotes' handy wine bag, Kings Country Jerky's gift packs and a collection of Raaka Chocolate as perfect presents.
The Design Muse blog creates its own mini gift guide, mentioning Claudia Pearson, Kate Durkin and Alyssa Ettinger.
The Experimental Gourmand came to our opening weekend at One Hanson and lovingly photographed many of the food vendors set up in the vault. Any and all of these edibles would make great gifts (or just lunch).
