This past weekend, with Thanksgiving looming and holiday-mania just a turkey away, Smorg celebrated its grand finale with a salute to the harvest: a feel-good fall-flavored, winner-takes-all Smorg-down, courtesy of famed foodie headquarters The Brooklyn Kitchen.
Purveyors of both sweet and savory edibles reached into their secret recipe tomes and concocted fare inspired by the autumn chill itself, then left The Kitchen and Smorgers to size up the yums and declare three season champions of Smorgasburg—because what fun is a food festival if no one gets to take home a trophy?
So congratulations to Schnitz (above) for winning in the Best Savory category with their Vegetarian Schnitzel with Butternut Squash; to Bite Me Cheesecakes in the Best Sweet category for their Nuts Clustered; and finally, the People's Choice Award, which went to Cake Bites and their addictive Pumpkin Spice vegan/gluten-free truffles.
