Now that we're fully in the new year, let's take a moment to reflect on all of the nice things people said about the Brooklyn Flea and Smorgasburg in late 2011. Here's a selection of our recent press attention.
The New York Times took the real-estate angle with an article on creative uses of vacant, undeveloped lots; the Flea and Smorgasburg's Williamsburg location is a prime example of the trend.
Did you know that the Flea is now on the Huffington Post? We'll be blogging there every once in a while, and our first article was the Featured Vendor profile of vintage seller Jarontiques.
Typewriters are back, it's true! Brady & Kowalski get another profile, this time in the Daily News.
Travis Sylvester, quite possibly the most stylish man at the Flea, was featured in BlackBook mag, giving holiday-party dress-up tips for men.
The blog for radio station WNYC checked out our friends Twig Terrariums.
A new blog, Good House Guest, also profiled the Twig ladies. Terrariums make great gifts!
The good people of Daily Candy wrote about Australian Scent—AS's clay de Magdelene was Suchin Pak's pick of the week!
The NY Post reports on SmorgasBrewery.
The Brooklyn Paper also checks out SmorgasBrewery, this time in comic form!
This blog ranked its best bites of 2011, and Landhaus's maple-bacon stick is in the number one slot.
Melanie Dunea, a writer and photographer, came to one of the last Smorgasburgs and interviewed people on what they would want for their last meals. Her super charming Last Supper video showcases a handful of Smorg regulars, staffers and vendors.
