What's New? (Flea)

Just another beautiful fall weekend at the Flea, where organic almond milk and rice-noodle crepes are sold alongside vintage posters and china sets.

Saturday, Oct. 8 (Flea in Fort Greene):

Diana Flynn - It's a one-time shot for this seller's collection of clothing, shoes, jackets, purses, scarves and lots of kitchen stuff like dish sets, trays, ice buckets, picnic sets and vases. A bit of furniture too.

John Dumey - Presenting a cornucopia of vintage china that was purchased by the vendor for his wedding. A self-described "electronic dork," John Dumey is bringing wires and cables, plus books, CDs and DVDs.

OMilk - A new product from a local company that specializes in vegan, raw and nutritious cashew, almond and other nut milks. This coming weekend OMilk will have on tap an unfiltered cashew milk with Madagascar vanilla bean as well as an organic almond milk. (Plus cookies as tasting vehicles!) OMilk will be at the Flea both days, Fort Greene on Saturday and Williamsburg on Sunday.

Pinupcycle - A Long Island–based picker and popular eBay seller will debut at the Flea with 500 vintage travel posters from the '50s and '60s (see the Iberia poster, above), rock posters from the '70s, clothing from Victorian to '80s mod and tons of mid-century modern furniture.

Rust Belt Retail Therapy - From rural northwestern Pennsylvania comes Rust Belt Retail Therapy, bringing "whispers of the past" with all sort of vintage: kitchenware, clothing, stained glass, quilts, sets of retired dishes, formica tables, children’s books and toys, just to start. After a few rain delays to start at the Flea (darn hurricane), they'll be at the market both days, Fort Greene on Saturday and Williamsburg on Sunday.

Sunday, Oct. 9 (Flea in Williamsburg):

You & Yours - Williamsburg neighbor and home design–editor Allegra Muzillo focuses on mid-20th-century modern, Scandinavian design and pieces inspired by the American Craft movement. Among other treasures, she'll be bringing her stock of edgy tableware, blown glass, chrome barware, quirky ’50s and ’60s lighting, vintage Pyrex and Melmac kitchenware, globes and atlases, classic hotel ashtrays and clothing, shoes, jewelry and accessories from the '60s through the '80s.

Noodle Lane - This new(ish)Flea food vendor is offering a new dish: Cheong Fun, a vegan rice-noodle crepe stuffed with caramelized scallions with peanut sauce, cucumbers, bean sprouts and roasted peanuts.
