Featured Vendor—Natasha Diggs

You know those girls who are effortlessly stylish, totally cool in the most unpretentious way? If you want to hang with those ladies, or be one of those ladies, we recommend you go find Natasha Diggs. (She's pictured above left with her booth partner, Gizmo.)

The Arizona-born, Bed Stuy–based Natasha is a DJ and all around girl-about-town, and might be the only Flea vendor who sells the trifecta of vintage clothes, costume jewelry and records ("from funk 45s to boogie 12-inches, Latin, rock, reggae, hip-hop, house and everything in between long as its soulful and real," she says.) That's to say that she's got your dress for the party, the bangles to accessorize it and the beats to keep it going all night long.

A longtime flea market pro, she's been set up at the Brooklyn Flea for almost two years now; Natasha's approach to buying and selling is "a little bit of everything" she says. "I still have a nostalgia for the era of flea markets where you had to dig thru stuff to find your treasures, hence the excess and somewhat haphazardly placed array of jewels on our tables. I like to give customers the feel of looking through their grandmother's old jewelry drawer so that when you do pull out that one special piece its that much more fun and meaningful."

Don't mis her regular DJ gigs: Thursdays it's a night called Skankin' & Groovin' at 310 Lounge on the Bowery (not this week though), plus hear her this Friday at the Loki Lounge in Park Slope. Most importantly, find her at the Flea (both days) all styled up and ready to help you do the same.
