Camera%20Obscura%2BBK%20Flea.jpgThis Sunday, June 6, the Flea at One Hanson is taking it to the next level—actually we're just going downstairs to the vault, where we already were before, but still. With temps soaring, it won't be long before the air-conditioned bank is your summer Sunday respite—so we figured, why not make the vault the coolest place in Brooklyn?

Camera Obscura, the Scottish pop band, is performing a free short live set on Sunday in what we're calling "Downstairs in the Vault," at an ice cream social from 2 to 4pm. (The National held its secret post-BAM afterparty here a couple weeks ago.) The band will also set up a vendor table to sell its own wares; better yet, longtime Flea vendors Blue Marble have created a special ice cream flavor for the show—"The Sweetest Cream," named for the band's song "The Sweetest Thing"—available with or without honey, in honor of the band's song "Honey In The Sun." Cute. (Camera Obscura are also playing at the Grand Ballroom in Manhattan on June 7.) Many thanks to the band's label, 4AD, for choosing the Flea for this fun time and for setting it all up.

We're also taking this opportunity to relaunch the "Curated Corner," where a friend of the Flea sells his/her own stuff, and taps pals to do the same. We're proud to welcome iconic potter and interior designer Jonathan Adler to the Corner's relaunch at One Hanson, where JA will offer a selection of his groovy pottery and gifts as well as select pieces of vintage lighting (ohhh) at a onetime-only booth on the main floor. (Mr. Adler himself won't likely be present fyi.) The Flea booth marks a return to Adler's roots as a potter who sold his wares at craft sales across the country before becoming a household name, so it's all full circle.

Look out for lots more cool events "Downstairs in the Vault"—sooner than later! See ya down there.
