BFF of the Week: Mikey

Who doesn't like some good political discourse with a BFF? When I saw dude checking out a book at Nick Kass-Johnson's table, holding a camera and what seemed like an awesome motorcycle switch knife (no, he wasn't holding up the place, he had just bought it, too), I thought, He looks fun: book, camera, knife, and all! Welcome Mikey.

Have you been to the Flea before?

No, this is my first time, actually.

Is that 'cause you're always home reading?

No, I came here to get a book. I'm a computer nerd, so I'm usually at home on the computer during the weekends. I want to read more. That's why I'm here.

And where is home?

About a block away. You see that building there? That's me.

You live that close to the Flea and this is your first time? Wow.

Yeah, I thought I should finally come and experience it, and experience the neighborhood.

Damn right. So, what'cha got there?

I bought this book [Aristotle's Politics] because of the sad state of affairs now--I guess I wanted to read about what it was like before now. Or, I guess, before government! Before the Sarah Palins of the world. Ugh. I just can't understand what some people believe in these days. Anyway....

So are you going to go home and read then?

Actually I'm going home for a dinner party. Potluck style! We'll probably have roast chicken, pasta, a really good salad.

Sounds delish! Can I come over? After I eat the fish taco, I mean.

Sure!

I never actually made it over for din, but felt like I created a solid bond with my BFF anyway. Thanks Mikey!
