« - Fort Greene Flea Returns! (And DUMBO Is Here to Stay!) »April 10, 2009What's New?
Some exciting new folks onboard this week. Val has been holding it down literally every week since Day One of the Flea with Blue Canary Vintage, her heady brew of dead-stock vintage enamel earrings, Pop '80s playing cards (New Kids, Alf, etc.), and more recently leather and canvas handbags (for guys and gals) and this cool 19th Century kiln glass that she sells by the pound (so cool). This weekend marks the debut of Val's new biz, and a serious foray into "stepping it up": Kings County Salvage builds on her eye for country/primitive stuff for the hip urban dweller (above left). She's been scouring everywhere from Texarkana to South Carolina to, yes, New Jersey to launch KCS, and this weekend you can get the first peek behind the veil. What will you find? Ha! (KCS and Blue Canary will both be at Fort Greene and Dumbo starting next weekend.) 76 Front #8/9/10, Sat/Sun Johnny Sparks handmakes metal chandeliers (above center) up in Greenpoint, and we think they're really gonna brighten up the scene this Sunday. Classy and industrial, Johnny's got the light touch! 81 Front #17, Sun
Chris Starling makes fountain pens, corkscrews, magnifying glasses, letter openers, and more by hand as a woodturner, creating a refined, organic array of utilitarian items. 81 Front #35, Sat/Sun Rachel is a last-minute addition that couldn't be passed up, what with her purported collezione of "vintage/never-worn designer pieces: Fendi bags, Kooba, J Brand, Seven, and Citizens jeans, Lily sundresses and pants, and Louis Vuitton glasses." Spring (fashion) forward! 81 Front #7, Sat/Sun (Another) Rachel and Michael and their Maptote bags of many locales (above right) are in the house this Sunday. Check out new colors and new spots (Catskills!) and carry home your Easter bunny ecologically and stylishly. 81 Front #5, Sun Trackback PingsTrackBack URL for this entry: Comments |
