« The Flea is One Years Old - TopSider Trivia Contest w/Tutek »April 1, 2009DailyCandy--Back in the Curated CornerFollowing the stellar start the kids at DailyCandy provided in the Curated Corner a month ago--complete with cornhole games and lavish prizes--DC is back this weekend in full effect, handpicking their favorite Brooklyn shops, designers, and artists to hawk their wares at the Flea. Suh-weet! For the uninitiated, the Curated Corner is located in the front window of the 81 Front Dumbo market.
Here's who's onboard: Rose Red & Lavender, the groovy East Williamsburg flower shop, will have for sale a heady mix of: absinthe spoons, French tumblers, and absinthe herbs, along with bell jars, mini-terrariums, heirloom-seed packets, and carnivorous plants. Whoa! (above center) Lensman extraordinaire Robert Malmberg will be taking black-and-white large-format Polaroid portraits of Fleasters on the fly, and also selling some of his beautiful Holga prints. (above right) Former Hable Construction product designer and now beautiful-thing-creator Llubav will be selling lovely felt floral brooches, pins, and headpieces. So pretty. (below left) Julie Floersch is a quilter and pillowmaker who adheres to the word "craft" with a capital C. Her work is so painstakingly detailed and gorgeous you (almost) don't want to lie down on it. (below right)
